A 33-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night.

According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department press release, a fatal traffic crash occurred on West Sahara Avenue near South Duneville Street, not far from Jones Boulevard, on around 11:21 p.m.

Evidence at the scene and a witness statement indicated a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle driven by a 33-year-old man was traveling eastbound on West Sahara Avenue at a high rate of speed. A 2015 Nissan Versa driven by Claudia Najera was exiting from a private drive from 5915 West Sahara Avenue and the Nissan attempted a lane change into the left travel lane from the middle travel lane when the motorcycle overturned onto the right side.

The rider was ejected and traveled into the back of the Nissan. The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clark County Coroner's Investigator. Excessive speed was determined to be a factor in the collision.

This is the 63rd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2017.
