California firefighters are safe after the ground underneath a fire truck gave way on Friday.
For a time, the truck dangled over the hole. Then it fell into the collapse.
The incident happened on the 5th lane of Southbound Interstate 15, south of the 138 highway.
All firefighters got out of the engine safely before the fall.
100 feet of the right shoulder was washed away. Two lanes of Interstate 15 are open as officials investigate the scene.
